Heart-Shaped Sugar Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp red food coloring
  • red sprinkles

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.  Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar with an electric mixer in a large bowl.
  3. Add in the eggs, vanilla, and food coloring, until the desired color. 
  4. Mix in the baking soda and add in the flour 1/2 a cup at a time.
  5. Roll the dough out, until the dough is 1/8 inch thick. From there, cut the cookies out with a heart shaped cookie cutter. 
  6. Put the cookies on a baking sheet 2 inches apart.
  7. Sprinkle the cookies with red sprinkles.
  8. Cook in the oven for 7-9 minutes or until the cookies are golden brown around the edges.
